Roy R Raas III writes fantasy obsessed with reluctant leaders and the tension between duty and desire. His stories don’t flinch from the complexity of power, loyalty, or the quietly devastating pull of love that refuses to be convenient.

His Chosen Heroes series — beginning with Golden Eyes and continuing in Echoes of the Past — launched a world of political stakes and deeply human heroes. His second series, The Wisdomseeker Saga, has been a 20-year passion project, surviving five complete rewrites before finally becoming what it was always meant to be. Between Fire and Frost is the first book of that saga, and the second is already underway.
